A2A believes poverty is rooted in broken relationships. For this reason, A2A takes a relational approach to poverty.  We humbly walk side by side to mentor individuals on how to navigate and overcome their particular situations. A2A works with families experiencing homelessness that are living in shelters, hotels, or couch surfing. These families are presented to us through Seminole County, law enforcement agencies, houses of faith, and other NGOs.

Every situation is different so we first assess a person(s) situation through a detailed one on one interview to understand the full scope of the situation. Secondly, we assign an advocate based on the assessment, to develop and implement a game plan. Lastly, our clients move into self-sufficiency with continued support, accountability, and group coaching from A2A. This is where we see our clients begin to contribute and give back to his/her community.

STEPS TO ADVANCE

SINCE OUR START IN 2017, A2A HAS COLLABORATED WITH THE FOLLOWING GOVERNMENT AND NON-PROFIT AGENCIES TO HELP FAMILIES IN CRISIS:

  • Seminole County Community Assistance Division - Rapid Rehousing Program

  • Seminole County Housing Authority - Public Housing Program

  • Rescue Outreach Mission - Emergency Shelter

  • Seminole County Public Schools - Families In Need Program

Act to ACT has also led educational workshops to increase public awareness about human trafficking-an area of risk for children that are experiencing homelessness.  To date, we’ve worked with Seminole County Council PTA (SCCPTA), Westside Community Center, and Journeys Academy.
