Family Advocate Training

  • Act to ACT 800 Historic Goldsboro Blvd Sanford Seminole (map)

Poverty is complex, including much more than a lack of money or material goods. Poverty is rooted in broken relationship with God, self, others and the rest of world.

A Family Advocate (FA) is someone who will commit to be in relationship with a working poor family and help them move towards healthy community, stable housing, financial stability, and spiritual growth. The FA will do this by coming alongside families in need to listen, help create and complete goals, and connect them to the resources they need to move forward. They are primarily advocates and connectors, not providers
